Babylon might lay claim to a Wonder of the World, but its Hanging Gardens are no more (and may never even have existed at all), and anyway – they never served a decent pint.

London’s Hanging Gardens are still very much alive and well. The Churchill Arms, Notting Hill Gate is an incredible botanical feast and stunning ‘explosion’ of hanging baskets. Built in 1750 it is a true slice of famed British eccentricity.

Winston Churchill’s grandparents were regular patrons. Things have changed a little since then with Thai food being a specialty as well as a superb array of real ales. It remains an awe inspiring sight outside and a wonderful atmosphere inside.
